Water shortages this summer makes it the opportune time to switch to low flow fixtures.
If you are concerned with the amount of water you are using this summer, make the switch to low flow plumbing fixtures. Simply by changing your current toilet to a low flow toilet could result in 80,000 liters of water saved in a year. Imagine 20,000 four litre milk jugs stacked up in your backyard, that’s a lot of water!
When you make the switch, be sure to consult one of your local plumbing experts. They will be able to let you know what low flow fixtures will work best for you. All good quality low flow fixtures use far less water than traditional fixtures but don’t lose the water pressure you know and love. But, be warned, there are some imitators out there that may leave you less than satisfied.
Also, be sure to get in on any rebates that the local regional district has to offer. Comox Valley and Nanaimo Regional District is currently offering toilet rebates for amounts between $50-$75.
