Diversity key to Torry and Sons success

 

            Comox Valley- Diversity and innovation is second nature to the Torry and Sons Team of Heating and Plumbing specialists.

            So with owners, Scott Torry and Brian Farnham at the helm providing progressive leadership – the company continues to grow and thrive with 130 talented employees and over 60 service vehicles on the road between Victoria and Port Hardy. Much of the company’s success and longevity – celebrating 30 years in July – can be attributed to their very loyal customers and to a team of dedicated staff. In fact, over half of the team are long service employees. So, what makes this Torry machine run with such great efficiency and optimum drive? Their committed staff.

            The Service Department operates under the guidance of Dale Bystrom and Shelley Scott – together they bring over 25 years of tenure to the company and along with that, vast industry knowledge. A support team of three coordinates a team of ten on the road technicians providing services for emergencies and safety maintenance for Heat Pumps, Furnaces, Boilers, Hot Water Tanks, Geo Thermal and all aspects of plumbing.

            Tonie Davis Manages the Residential Installation Department with 25 plumbing and heating specialists offering home heating retrofits and full plumbing services. Mike McNamee, Gary Spink, Kevin Clark and Ken Gawryluk round out the division, together bring over 80 years of industry experience to the department providing consultation in New Home Builds, Residential HVAC and small commercial projects.

            The Fire Protection Division offers both home and commercial state-of-the art fire suppression systems. Manager, Jason O’Connell provides on-site consultation to review requirements and provide options for the latest technology and best dependability in fire protection. Jason is also the Commercial Project contact for our Mid-Island division.

            Torry and Sons has a full metal Fabrication Shop managed by Martin Sammon. The Team of sheetmetal technicians are completing custom ducting designs in conjunction with residential and commercial heating and cooling installations. The shop also custom fabricates commissioned sheetmetal projects.

            The commercial HVAC division, under the guidance of Scott Torry and Brian Farnham, tenders the full mechanical contracting for large and small commercial projects providing: Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection, Refrigeration, Sheetmetal Fabrication, Electrical and Welding – all supplied by licensed in-house technicians.

            Satellite offices on Mostar Road in Nanaimo and in Victoria are supported by the Comox Valley team. The Torry and Sons Victoria Satellite office has Joel Torry managing extensive commercial heating and plumbing projects. Recently completed jobs include Walmart in Victoria, Starbucks in Saanich and Thrifty Foods in Duncan.

            Diversified and innovative barely begins to describe the Torry and Sons Team of long standing and talented people.
